Author Bio
Joy Alicia is a versatile podcast host, writer, stand-up comic, and founder of a results-driven modern dating coaching service, Online Dating Savior.
While in college, she launched and independently
managed a successful entertainment news website that attracted millions of page views each month at its peak.
Joy continues to entertain and inform with her unique blend of wit and expertise.
Her writing has been published in Newsweek, The Daily Mail, Blavity, Metro UK, The Bold Italic and more. She's also a contributor to the upcoming anthology Here For All The Reasons, which delves into ABC’s hit shows The Bachelor and The Bachelorette.
A passionate international traveler, Joy has a colorful history of dating men both in the U.S. and abroad. While many women have explored relationships across borders, few share their unforgettable—and often shocking—dating experiences with the same humorous flair as Joy. Case in point: when Tinder notified her that 10,000 men had swiped right on her profile, the message was meant to inspire—but instead left her feeling a bit discouraged. Fortunately, it also sparked the realization that her online dating adventures could entertain others, and she hasn't looked back since.
After asking thousands of people revealing and enlightening questions, Joy shares thought provoking insights in her debut essay collection, So Drunk A Tooth’s Gotta Go.
She has performed stand-up comedy in California, Texas, and Oregon and hopes to add more places to her list. When she isn’t planning a trip or trying new restaurants, she’s catching up on what’s trending on social media. Joy currently lives in southern California with her dog, who, according to Joy, has mastered the art of feigning an avoidant attachment style to score treats.
